The ON-IT project’s state of play and steps forward were the focus of the 3rd coordination meeting of the ON-IT – ONline Internship in Tourism consortium, hosted by the University of Macerata (Italy) on 21 April 2022.
Organised as a hybrid event, the meeting gathered representatives of all the ON-IT partners, either in person or remotely, to plan the project’s future actions and contribute to improve the quality of online internship experiences.
After successfully delivering the ON-IT Report on Experiences of Virtual Internship in Europe, the consortium agreed on the publication of its second output, the ON-IT Guidelines aimed at defining quality criteria, processes and rules for the implementation of effective remote work-based learning models in higher education.
The Guidelines will be soon available on the ON-IT website and, during the third phase of the project, will be piloted through real cases of remote or hybrid internships and traineeships.
Based on the needs identified during the piloting phase, the consortium will develop a series of learning resources to facilitate the implementation of effective remote internship experiences.
About the ON-IT project
The ON-IT – ONline Internship in Tourism project aims to develop a guidance framework and practical tools to design and implement quality online tourism internships in higher education. By actively engaging all actors involved in the internship experience, the ON-IT project focuses on equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to face the challenges of digital transformation in the labour market.
Co-funded by the Erasmus+ project of the European Union, the project gathers 7 partners from all over Europe, committed to explore the challenges and opportunities of remote work-based learning: the University of Macerata (Lead Partner, Italy); the University of La Laguna (Spain); JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland); Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Rijeka (Croatia); Montpellier Business School (France); Mediterranean Universities Union – UNIMED (Italy); and IGCAT (Spain).
